This is one of the hardest questions to ask yourself and to get the answers to. You hear so many different things that are both negative and positive. It seems that the negative things are what gets the most attention, but is that what we should focus on? Latino Gringos™ investigates!

With social media being so popular, it seems like a great way to find out what is going on in communities all around the state. Facebook is a great tool if you have an account. You can locate local groups by typing in the city name or local town names and joining. People love to help others, so just ask questions.

Do a demographics search about the location you are considering. By using simple keywords, you can locate practically anything you want to know. If you were born in another country, you might want to know if people that were born there live in your chosen area.

It is also good to search for local crime statistics. This is always one of the biggest concerns when moving anywhere, especially when you have children. Google can be your best friend. Just type in the city name and a keyword like ‘crimes’ and find out more than enough information about that town, city or state.

Lastly, you want to go to the city and look around. Ask people what they think and know about the area you are interested in. People love to share what they know.

As with any other state in this great nation, there are good and bad areas everywhere. Florida can be the best state you have ever lived in.

The weather is something to get used to and you will need air conditioning! H.O.A. (Homeowners Associations) fees are very hard to avoid and the scams that go along with those groups. If you research that topic, you will find that they are given way too much power over homeowners, but that can be a different article.

The beaches and lakes are beautiful. There are many all over the state. Since you are surrounded by water, it is not difficult to find one that suits your needs.

You have to decide what is most important. Most of the people seem friendly. It is always recommended that you become friends with people that have things in common with you. It can be difficult but when you are part of a good community that you actively participate in, it can make the difference between a good or bad experience.
